At Global13 we operate a unique associate model that enables us to bring together industry leaders from around the world, with the experience to support our vision and yours as we work to create sustainable sports strategies that lead to a healthy and active world. In July four new associates joined the established team which includes Managing Director Jason Harborow, Real Estate Director Andrew Ford and Events Director Graham Clay; adding expertise in commercial strategy development, broadcasting, digital streaming and elite athlete management.

David Johnson

Expert in sports broadcasting David Johnson joins the team continuing his exceptional career in which he has worked with a range of national sports associations, international federations and sporting organisations to bring action to the audience.

David’s 33+ year career has seen him as operate as Broadcast Manager at 3 FIFA World Cups, 2 UEFA Euros, The Olympic Games, 13 UEFA Champions League matches & Final plus 2 UEFA SuperCup Finals responsibility for large production teams (100+).

A fully qualified video editor (101 & 201 certification), content strategist with expertise in cloud-based video content platform development David has the expertise to ensure exceptional content is not only delivered but distributed with impact.

Karen Rothery

Karen Rothery, an established and accomplished CEO with 30+ year’s commercial experience has operated in senior leadership positions delivering organisational change and financial stability whilst actively championing diverse and inclusive cultures. She has held CEO roles in both membership and professional sport bodies including British Universities & Colleges Sport (BUCS), Surrey Sports Park (SSP) and Leicestershire County Cricket Club (LCCC).

Whilst commercial director at England Netball Karen brought the sport to TV securing netball’s first broadcast deal with Sky Sports in 2006, then the only female sport to do so. She has delivered over 20 partnership relationships across sports bodies and secured over £3million in sponsorship investments. With a deep understanding of higher education sport, Karen delivered unprecedented investment into the sector through two competitive funding rounds, ultimately bringing £50 million into universities for the first time through partnership with Sport England.

Mark Croston

Adding another three decades of experience, Mark Croston joins Global13. Mark has held leadership roles in both membership and professional sport bodies including the like of the International Olympic Committee, GAISF, The Rugby Football League, World Dodgeball, Federation of International Touch and England Touch. Mark has been involved in bidding, winning and delivering major sporting events including World Cups; and hosted the inaugural Dodgeball World Cup in Manchester followed by the 2018 World Cup in Madison Square Garden.

Mark was appointed as Chair of S.A.V.E in 2018, the organisation established by former EPL players from Liverpool F.C., Manchester City, Manchester United and Newcastle United –as survivors of historical abuse. The organisation is leading the development of protocols in association with F.I.F.A., to ensure young people can play sport in a protected environment. Mark established awareness and fundraising DodgeCancer in 2018, using sport to reach new audiences. Mark played out a rugby career in the UK, France and Australia, prior transitioning to coaching, management and governance roles becoming RFL Vice President in 2017.

Kevin Paxton

A Leader in Elite Performance Management & Innovation Kevin Paxton Joins the team with over 20 years at both youth and senior level. A lecturer and practitioner Kevin is at the forefront of sports science research and practical application and operates as a BASES High Performance Sport Accredited Practitioner, Supervisor and Reviewer with chartered scientist status​

Highly experience and qualified in a variety of training methods; he has delivered programs for a range of sports institutions including Football, Cricket, Basketball and Athletics. Kevin has been instrumental in developing and implementing international partnership organisations for top tier clubs, managed relationships with international athletes, co-ordinated international and club performance plans ensuring remote monitoring of individual athletes. Most recently Kevin has managed youth development sport at Leicester City FC delivering innovative approaches to athlete benchmarking and individual integrated development.
