Swinton Lionesses Crowned Inaugural Pankhurst Cup Champions

Global 13 is delighted to congratulate the Swinton Lionesses on being crowned the first-ever winners of the Pankhurst Cup, a brand-new annual fixture between Swinton Lions RLFC and Salford Red Devils RLFC, proudly supported by Salford City Council.

The Pankhurst Cup not only showcased the skill, resilience, and passion of women’s rugby league in the City of Salford, but also paid tribute to the city’s powerful history. Named in honour of Emmeline Pankhurst, the iconic leader of the British suffragette movement, the Cup stands as a celebration of women’s strength, progress, and legacy.

The inaugural final was marked by a strong community presence, with The Right Worshipful, the Ceremonial Mayor of Salford, Councillor Heather Fletcher, and RFL Vice President Steve Wild presenting the Lionesses with their medals and the historic trophy.

As principal sponsor of the Lionesses in 2025, Global 13 is proud to support a team that continues to inspire, both through success on the pitch and through its role in advancing women’s sport with pride, passion, and purpose.

This victory is just the beginning of what promises to be an exciting new tradition.
